The ISD First Aid Kit fuses a Minnesota school district’s local data (ISD budget, key contacts, discipline reports, local legislator data, academic performance, etc.) with principles, local policy decision points, State level public policy changes and summaries of contested K12 topics (smartphone use, SEL, overwhelmed teachers, weak academic performance, etc.). Each of the 14 chapters concludes with a set of detailed workbook questions. Larger projects are outlined for more sustained local inquiry or action.
Purchase of an ISD First Aid Kit includes:
- a digital file with hyperlinks (terms and conditions apply)
- a printed version for workbook portions and easy reference
- Fourteen 15-page chapters
- Workbook questions
- Over 50 ISD-specific data visualizations
- (opt-in) networking with other purchasers within your school district, and
- (opt-in) receipt of future ISD First Aid Kit Owner email updates (beta).
ISD First Aid uses a crowdfunding business model. Creation and production of an ISD First Aid Kit for a specific school district requires the pre-purchase by five customers within a school district. This encourages team building and reassures purchasers that they are not working in isolation.
